noel noel

I had seen this idea on pinterest a few months back. I really loved the idea of using a bell for the letter “o”. The idea originally came from Craft Goodies.

I decided to put a bit of my own spin on the idea. I bought the “noel” as a set for $5 at Hobby Lobby. This is how it looked when I bought it.

I like it but knew the whole purpose behind buying it was to re-create it modeled after what I had seen on pinterest. So I pried the “o” off as well as all the embellishments. Then I primed and painted the remaining letters. Then I distressed the letters a bit to allow some of the red and green to show through. I had a bell from previous decorations that I knew was perfect for the “o”. I glued it down as well as glued down some of the pinecones and some greenery.

I like the end result but feel as though it may be missing something to draw the eye upward. Any ideas? My plan is to put it along side our nativity scene which I am working on for a table display in our office.

Linking up at these fun parties!
