3 Days 3 Ways: Cupcake Liner Christmas Décor {Day 2}

Cupcake Liner Christmas Trees

I bought those Styrofoam cone thingys from Hobby Lobby well over a month ago and have been toying with ideas for how to decorate them ever since. A couple weeks ago my loving, well-meaning husband went grocery shopping for me and bought the wrong size cupcake liners. Since I didn’t have an immediate use for them I stashed them away and didn’t think of them again. Then the other night I had a “light bulb” moment and decided to use them to cover the Styrofoam cone thingys that had been haunting me!

I had a pack of 100 teeny tiny liners and the whole pack nearly covered this medium sized cone. (I am feeling very technical in my descriptions right now. Can you tell?) I had Peter buy another pack of 50 count jumbo liners while He was out and cut them to fill in the holes as well as make my snowflake banner and tomorrow's craft. I also made another tree out of muslin and topped it with a star I made out of scrap cupcake liners.

Then I put them in my tray to replace my decoupaged pumpkins and added a little pinecone tree to be their buddy. The more the merrier right? I also used some yarn wrapped balls and some more left over cupcake liner scraps to resemble snow.

I am very happy with the result! It isn’t perfect, but neither am I so that is okay. I am also happy to finally be feeling like I am tackling some of the things on my to-do list, including these decorations (hopefully some more will get done tonight too!), cleaning and homework. Which reminds me, I need to stop blabbing and get working! Have an awesome weekend!!
